Development of novel sensing sytem by the incorporation of fluorescent probe into metalnanoparticle

Project Detail:

This research is focused on the development of a new molecule/ion detection system that is more efficient than conventional fluorescent sensor systems, by incorporating the synthetic fluorescent organic compound, with the Plasmonic Nano Composite. Obtained dye-plasmonic nanocomposite system will consist of a small fluorescent probes to be covalently linked with gold or silver plasma nanoparticles. In principle, when the target system absorbs light energy at an appropriate wavelength, the emitted fluorescent light will be amplified via plasmonic resonance effect, generating the Localized Surface Plasmon Resonance (LSPR), which is expected to allow the system more efficient in metal detection.
